In his ‘Vision for Cycling‘ the Mayor of London has offered special funding for the creation of ‘mini Hollands’ in the suburbs, local town centres where targeted high spending on cycling would make better places for everyone. The Mayor believes this will be the most transformative of all his cycling policies. There would be “substantial redesigns of the main town centre, to show what is possible when roads and spaces are built around cyclists”.
We believe Waltham Forest is ideally placed to attract this investment in at least one of our town centres. The borough has an ambitious cycling target combined with a large proportion of cycle-able trips, but conditions for cycling are too difficult for many people.
Here you can have your say and make the case for which town centre you think should get extra funding and become such a cycling heaven.
