Sunday 15 February
Nic’s offroad ride
– x2
There’s been some interest in the segregated cycle infrastructure installed when the North Circular was rebuilt some 20 years ago,  so Nic has created two routes to visit what we have here in Waltham Forest.
1. Meet at 10 for 10.30 departure outside Walthamstow Library / Farmers’ Market for a few hours of mucky Epping Forestry. This route takes in the infrastructure around Vinegar Hill in Walthamstow Forest.  A giant engineering project,  it involved the stabilisation of a huge section of the forest but this is currently muddy,  rutted and,  in places,  more than a little stony.   Only knobbly tyres will cut the mustard here!
2. The second ride will leave at 2.30 and can be ridden by anyone on any bike,  as it does not go off road,  bar 100 yards or so near Folly Lane.  The route is necessarily convoluted,  but links all the bridges,   underpasses and some of the traffic-calmed streets without repeating any.
Call Nic on 07961 544044 if you have any questions.

Monday 16 February
Vigil and Die-In for Federica Baldassa
Federica Baldassa, killed 6/02/2015
The third cyclist to be killed in London this year died on Friday 6 February in Bloomsbury. There will be another Vigil and Die-In at the spot on Monday 16 February at 6 for a 6.30 start, and Nic will be leading a ride to the Vigil from Walthamstow Town Square by the library.  We will set off by 5pm,  so we can ride at a reasonable pace.  Nic has plotted a route that coincides, by and large, with the night route of QuietWay 38,  which runs between Walthamstow and Bloomsbury.
Nic will also lead a return ride after the event,  so those who work in London are welcome to join those who rode in.
Call Nic on 07961 544044 if you have any questions.
