Walthamstow Family Bike Club’s Newcomers Ride
The gentlest of them all: following the roaring success of the monthly family rides, Walthamstow Family Bike Club is now offering an even gentler and quieter introduction to cycling, ideal for those new to cycling, including families with young children.
We’ll ride around the quiet streets in Walthamstow Village, and tailor the distance to the riders’ needs and confidence. Before we set off we’ll do a quick check on all bikes to ensure they are roadworthy.
We meet at 2pm in Walthamstow Village Square at the junction of Eden Road and Orford Road (for a map click here). We finish at the Square around 3.30pm.
Sunday 20 March – 2:30pm, Lordship Recreation Ground
Kidical Mass, Tottenham!
Kidical Mass is a global family cycling movement, where kids, kids at heart, and their families ride together, raising awareness for the desire and need for safe cycling infrastructure in our community.
All types of bikes, trailers, tandems, cargo bikes and whatever rolls are welcome! We are celebrating the fact that kids are traffic too, and aim for fun on vehicles that don’t hurt the future.
The event is powered by Cargobike Mum Deborah, aka @MamaMoose_Be, and Sabrina @sdasodwyer.
Meet at 2pm for 2:30 set off by the Hub in Lordship Recreation Ground in Tottenham.
Get in touch with us if you’d like a feeder ride from Walthamstow – we’re likely leaving at 1pm from the Library!
Friday 25 March
Come to Belvedere Road in the Southbank by 7:30pm to join this energising bike party if you’re already in Central London, or else meet Nic outside Walthamstow Library by 6pm to ride there together.
Please note there will be no ride on the last Sunday of March – it being Easter and all. Instead, take a look above and join one of the rides on the 20th!
