E11 Ride to Waterlink Way
NB: this month’s ride is, unusually, on the 2nd Sunday of the month!
Following rivers Pool and Ravensborne, the Waterlink Way is a fasiniating cycle route revealing a variety of landscapes, from beautiful country parks to post industrial landscapes.
South Norwood country park is our furthest point . Various other parks and rivers en route.
Riding easy and mainly off roads, with a few busy junctions. Total distance c. 30 miles and DLR is available if you wish to make it shorter. We will stop for coffee and lunch, and a pint at the North Star to finish the day.

Another ride from the E11 crowd: meet at Café Solo, 117 Snakes Lane West, Woodford Green at 10:30. Return by 4pm.

Walthamstow Family Bike Ride
A relaxed and enjoyable afternoon travelling by bicycle and exploring the nooks and crannies in and around our borough. Frisbees sometimes materialise when we hit a suitable open space.
We aim to stop off at a cafe at about half time, but we recommend you bring a snack and some water.
Meet at 1pm at the Orford Road/Church Lane junction, E17 9RW, next to the old postbox opposite the Ancient House … see the map.

Sunday 15 May – 11am, Walthamstow Library
Take the Peaceful Route with Nic

Meet from about 10.30 for an 11 o’clock start outside Walthamstow Library / Farmers’ Market.
Join Nic for the peaceful ride over mixed surfaces (be ready for a bit of mud!). The destination and direction of the ride will be discussed at the start and will account for wind speed and direction and may be train-assisted – so take your Oyster or contactless debit card with you.

Walthamstow Family Bike Club’s Newcomers Ride
The gentlest of them all: following the roaring success of the monthly family rides, Walthamstow Family Bike Club is now offering an even gentler and quieter introduction to cycling, ideal for those new to cycling, including families with young children.
We’ll ride around the quiet streets in Walthamstow Village, and tailor the distance to the riders’ needs and confidence. Before we set off we’ll do a quick check on all bikes to ensure they are roadworthy.
We meet at 2pm in Walthamstow Village Square at the junction of Eden Road and Orford Road (for a map click here). We finish at the Square around 3.30pm.

Monday 16 May
Breeze road ride
Meet Margaret, of Sick Bike Repairs, at 9.30am outside The Castle, 393 – 395 High Road, Woodford IG8 0XG.
This ride will be on the roads around the Essex countryside and will be approx 35-40 miles, the route will be adjusted to take account of conditions on the day.  The pace will be brisk, 12-14 mph.

Tuesday 17 May
Bridget’s Evening Ride

Join Bridget for a 6.30pm start outside Walthamstow Library for an hour or so of riding around the borough.

Wednesday 18 May
The Ride of Silence

Sunday 22 May
David Bellamy Memorial Ride 2016

Our friend and member Martyn Bellamy is organising a challenging charity ride to Southend on 22 May to raise funds for day trips to the seaside for looked after children and young carers in Newham and Waltham Forest. Why not join and / or sponsor his worthy cause?

Ideas always abound, including options to account for weather. In case we use the train have your Oyster or contactless debit card with you!
Meet at 10.15 outside Walthamstow Library, for a departure by 10.30. We are usually back by 3-4pm.

Friday 27 May
Critical Mass

Come to Belvedere Road in the Southbank by 7:30pm to join this energising bike party if you’re already in Central London, or else meet Nic outside Walthamstow Library by 6pm to ride there together.

Tottenham Kiddical Mass and RiverFest

Saturday 18 June: join our friends at the Ahead Charity for another wonderful charity ride – or walk;
