Join Bridget for the women’s only gentle bike ride around parkland in the Walthamstow area, using quiet roads and cycle paths. As this is an official Breeze ride, please register here.

10% by 2020 Treasury Protest – Increase Spending for Cycling
11feb-increase-spending-on-cycling-posterBased on numerous studies and WHO guidelines, the UN recommends that 20% of transport budget be spent on active travel: walking and cycling. Far too long have our politicians paid lip service to action on pollution, climate change and public health without actually doing anything meaningful. Join us as we demand action on active travel: 5% of transport budget in 2017, 10% by 2020, and the recommended 20% by 2025, to make the UK cleaner, healthier and sustainable.
Assemble at Trafalgar Square for 1pm
To travel from Walthamstow with us, meet at 11:45am for midday departure from Walthamstow Town Square (outside the library).

Walthamstow Family Bike Club’s Open Spaces Ride
A relaxed and enjoyable afternoon travellingimg_0436 by bicycle and exploring the nooks and crannies in and around our borough. Frisbees sometimes materialise when we hit a suitable open space.
We aim to stop off at a cafe at about half time, but we recommend you bring a snack and some water.
Meet at 1pm at the Orford Road/Church Lane junction, E17 9RW, next to the old postbox opposite the Ancient House … see the map.

Sunday 19 February – 11am, Walthamstow Town Square
Take the Peaceful Route with Nic

Meet from about 10.30 for an 11 o’clock start outside Walthamstow Library / Farmers’ Market.
Join Nic for the peaceful ride over mixed surfaces (be ready for a bit of mud!). The destination and direction of the ride will be discussed at the start and will account for wind speed and direction and may be train-assisted – so take your Oyster or contactless debit card with you.

The gentlest of them all continues year-round!
Walthamstow Family Bike Club is now offering an even gentler and quieter introduction to cycling, ideal for those new to cycling, including families with young children.
We’ll ride around the quiet streets in Walthamstow Village, and tailor the distance to the riders’ needs and confidence. Before we set off we’ll do a quick check on all bikes to ensure they are roadworthy.
We meet at 2pm in Walthamstow Village Square at the junction of Eden Road and Orford Road (for a map click here). We finish at the Square around 3.30pm.

Come to Belvedere Road in the Southbank by 7:30pm to join this energising bike party if you’re already in Central London, or else meet Nic outside Walthamstow Library by 6pm to ride there together.

WFCycling Social Ride to Geffrye Museum
Join us for leisurely ride to Geffrye Museum of the home in Shoreditch
Bring lights, food and drink, though we will stop for a snack along the way.
Meet at 10:15 outside Walthamstow Library, for a departure by 10.30. We are usually back by 3-4pm.
