Waltham Forest’s mini-Holland programme has been widely recognised as a leading urban transport and infrastructure project and has won awards from Architecture, Sustainability, Transport and Public Service groups.
We believe the council’s Mini Holland vision offers urban communities across the UK and the globe a blueprint for redesigning our towns and cities to make them healthier, safer and more enjoyable. It provides solutions for a reduction in air pollution & traffic congestion which are crucial given the forecast for a huge population increase for our borough, creates streets which encourage more active travel and thus combat growing levels of obesity & type 2 diabetes, and helps combat climate change by reducing our reliance on using fossil fuels for traveling.
The council can be justifiably be very proud of its track record in being short listed for a number of awards, and winning so many. Here’s the list as at July 2019.
