WFCC run a ride most weeks, and there are also several other regular rides in the borough – see our monthly ride list for details of what’s coming up this month (sometimes we need to move things around).

You don’t need to be an LCC member to join our rides, but it’s a great way to support our work if you can. Riders must be 18+ or accompanied by a responsible adult.

WFCC Monthly Ride (Advanced)

Join us on the fourth Sunday of the month for a leisurely ride at a conversational pace. The rides assemble at 10.15 outside Walthamstow Library, and departs sharp on 10.30. If you arrive early you will have time to browse the Farmers Market and have a coffee 🙂

The rides are planned in advance with details usually included on the monthly ride listings – please get in touch if you have any questions. The length of rides vary, with a maximum of 30 miles in the summer and 20 miles November to February.

Bring snacks, lights and Oyster/contactless. We are usually back by 3-4pm and always have a snack stop somewhere. See here for details of this month’s ride

Walthamstow Family Bike Club (Intermediate)

We meet on the second Sunday of the month at 1pm at Orford Road/Church Lane junction E17 for a relaxed and enjoyable afternoon exploring the nooks and crannies around Walthamstow. We will visit a cafe later in the ride, may stop along the way for a picnic snack, and so apart from a bicycle and any children you can round-up, bring some water and something to eat.

The maximum distance we do is 15 miles for the round trip, but as its tailored to the abilities of those who turn up and is often shorter. We aim to get back no later than 6pm in the summer, and 5pm in the winter (when you’ll need to bring lights).

Walthamstow Family Bike Club’s Newcomers Ride (Beginner)

Following the roaring success of the monthly family rides, Walthamstow Family Bike Club is now offering an even gentler and quieter introduction to cycling, ideal for those new to cycling, including families with young children. We’ll ride around the quiet streets in Walthamstow Village, and tailor the distance to the riders’ needs and confidence. Before we set off we’ll do a quick check on all bikes to ensure they are roadworthy.

We meet on the third Sunday of the month at 2pm in Walthamstow Village Square at the junction of Eden Road and Orford Road (for a map click here). We finish at the Square around 3.30pm.

Summer Evening Rides (Intermediate)

Take advantage of summer evenings and get on your bike!  Or join us after your commute home. We meet up on the first Wednesday of the month  for a 6.30 p.m. start outside Walthamstow Library, with about an hour’s ride, followed by a quick drink in a pub near home.

The summer rides run from May to September, see ride listings for details.
